Introduction: The 4.0 revolution and the growing use of technologies such as artificial intelligence are transforming employment models and labor relations, generating greater demands and workloads that impact concentration and mental effort. These changes highlight theimportance of considering the physical and mental well-being of workers operating from home, assessing episodes of stress and comprehensive health disorders, as well as psychosocial coping behaviors outside of a traditional work environment. Methodology: This study reviews 12 measurement instruments to assess the psychosocial conditions of workers in relation to their organizational and social environment, and how these affect their physical and mental health. Results: The results reveal that these instruments do not adequately contemplate the specific working conditions of remote work or telework, which can bias the perception of psychosocial risk and, consequently, negatively influence prevention and occupational safety measures. Conclusions: It is critical to update these instruments to ensure that measurements accurately reflect the reality of remote work and guide the formulation of labor policies that promote a healthy and safe work environment for remote workers.
